Mode switching mission board update gone: alternative for ranking up

Its not cheating, its an exploit. The whole idea of an exploit is that it wasnt thought about by the devs in that sense. Switching modes was the function itself, using it to either quick-launch from a station or refresh the missions was an oversight, and I can imagine a tough one to fix. If they did fix it (and we've had these reports after every patch, so not sure yet), that'd be a nice step. Still think it should be compensated by simply generating more missions per instance.
The poster I replied to labelled it as cheating, it was not my choice of word.

And I agree with you completely, especially the need to provide a better mission generation sysyem per instance in conjunction with removing a gimpy exploit. It's only fair to expect the developers to fix and improve gameplay mechanics when removing unnecesary exploits. Not for them to remove the exploit which players used in order to get what they should have gotten in the first place - a decent mission generation system - without adding the long awaited for improved mission generation system. It's like placing a cast on a broken bone without setting the bone first.

After the patch there are now 2-3 missions instead of 5-7 for my faction to choose from. 5-7 was hard to stack up even with mode switching.

So now i .... just cant play the missions i want to play anymore. I can look at 2-3 missions that offer ... worse rewards than before. Great.

I dont need any random missions, though. I need certain missions, depending on the state my faction is in.

The solution of the Dogmatics is probably that I fly from station A to B to search for missions. So inatead of flying from A to B while doing something for my faction I am now supposed to fly from A to B and achieve nothing? After I already play the BGS for the Alliance, which includes not achieving riches or ranks anyway.

Yeah ... sounds like a plan... not.

Edit: So... not only is the "exploit" removed.... the situation is even worse because the number of missions has bèen significantly removed.

Right now I'm very pleased I decided to jump into ED around the v2.1 release cos I made a lot of hay when that sun was shining [heart] a lot more than I think FDev intended [squeeeee]
 
Mode switching is still working. Only problem: Mission generation has been very much randomized with passenger missions. Distribution makes no sense that i have identified yet.
