Today a Mod started a post with this statement "Not posting as a mod here." and proceeded to express his thoughts on the matter at hand. Which got me thinking about Mods and their rights and obligations.

I'm curious. How do you feel about Moderators entering discussions?

Absolutely fine - I think that all of them have been forum members before they became Moderators and don't see why they should stop engaging in discussions regarding topics that they wish to.

Another forum I am a member on has the mods post in bold if it's a moderating post and normally if not.

Anyway I see no reason why a mod shouldn't be able to have or post their own opinions.

Mods are people too I suppose.

(Though I did hear a rumour that they all have to plug themselves into a wall socket each night and they think tusks are sexy.)

Pretty sure a moderators status will be immediately stripped if they abuse the elevated privilege level, other than that I see no reason to keep moderators away from personal discussions.

#modsarepeopletoo :D

Moderators of the forum are volunteer, as such - I've told them that they're allowed to post freely as long as they state it's of their own opinion or something relating as such.

Most of the moderators were appointed or recommended by me. I'm not going to tell them to stop posting as they currently do. Only time where a conflict occurs is when a moderator moderates against people posting to said moderators reply via the means of emotion. If such actions occur, please message me as soon as possible.

Now, if said moderator was a paid employee of Frontier, I would at least expect them to not post their thoughts openly here on these social mediums.

Anyhow, moderators will still be allowed to post freely here on the Frontier forums. That won't be changing unless a request from up the chain happens. There is no need to poll about such.

Thanks,
Brett C
