Well, I was testing the new FSS out in Solo, having a chat with other CMDRs in other modes in the same system as me.
Solo sure felt like an engaging multiplayer mode to me.
Imagine being in Solo and following instructions from those in Open on how to hit a BGS or getting tips for PP.
It's amazing how connected and a part of the living galaxy you feel in Solo mode now.

Solo is where its at.
I've been able to get so much work done in solo mode without anyone stopping me from doing it.
I never knew there would be a game that was conflict free while attacking another player or group of players.
I was dumb and played open from the beginning. Had I of known I could have just skipped all that engineering. Learning how to PVP, and use fixed weapons is all a moot point now.
I should have tried this out sooner!
Best multiplayer feature ever!
And if I am in open, I can use the block feature or the 15 second timer.

You have me confused, how do you attack other players or groups of players from solo? The fact is... you can't. What you can do is work against a NPC faction or power... and other players may support that NPC faction or power. But at no time are you attacking other players or groups of players.
