Modification of the Coriolis Starport texture

I believe a modification of the Coriolis Starport texture is in order. Not sure how, but it would be nice if it was easier to find the mailslot on the station, especially when you jump in and are angled in such a way that you cant tell which face is front or back. Just my 2 cents. Thanks!!!

Check this out. When you jump in, target the station and take a close look at the holographic target display in the left side.

If any part of the mail slot is in your view, you can see it in the holograph. If it isn't, the picture has some nice arrows on the side of the station that point to its location.

Hope that helps..C:

If you played the original Elite, you know instantly by instinct where the docking slit is by looking at the station rotate. Now, in E: D you just have to head for the other end... :)

I have found (based on forum suggestions) that if you approach the station (while in supercruise) from the planet it is orbiting, you'll come out pretty much in front of the slot.

Initially, I thought 'How the heck do you do that', but it doesn't take much. As you approach just aim in between it and the planet. You get a feel for where you are and just arc into station as you get close to the 1Mm distance.

Combine the suggestions together and you get a working method for reliably finding the slot on a station.

* Drop out of SC at an imaginary line between the station and the body it orbits.
* Target the station, the hologram has arrows on the side of it pointing towards the side with the slot.

With those 2 together, you should either be facing the slot, or close to the correct side of the station for it.
