Modified Consumer Firmware impossible to find!

I’ve visited many stations for missions with MCF as rewards, scanned data points etc but I can’t find it anywhere. I am getting fed up with looking now but need some for G5 mods. Has anybody got any tips as to where I can find some?

Don't quote me, because I've mostly been in the beta since Saturday, but I think I recall getting a good number of these from Private Data Beacons in Encoded Emissions Sources flying around Sol.

You can do passenger missions, which often enough yield MEFs, especially the rescue operations in the PLeiades. Or you go to an earth-like world with good population and in close orbit you will find encoded SSs, which can give all kinds of data point scan data.
