Modified Guardian Plasma Charger in PVE

So, guys, first - Merry Christmas to you all, to all this community, made of hard core fans, newcomers and those who join us for a while, from time to time !

Now, back at the topic: I unlocked 4 of those weapons, the Class II, fixed, with the speed shot with an astonishing 6000m/s ! But not before a complicated process ( the megaship Bright Sentinel is damaged and thus out of service, with targs waiting to ambush anyone coming near, and the whole system is green... I was forced to get the Mbooni permit first, then allied with darn faction so I could access the last land based stations who sold the weapons... Did I mention I did not have enough blueprints for them so I was forced to return to the Guardian sites and gather more ?... )

Anyway, got my toys and after many switches and experiences, I found my balanced mode, surprisingly effective, in Assassination missions and, most important, bounty hunting !
so, here a list of pro and contra - the ship I use, the only one who could accommodate 4 of them at once and still handle nice - you guess-it - the FdL .
All grade 5 eng on her, obvious, a mix of Shield Boosters in order to get the power down, and all the build made with consideration for power. PD is weapon focused.

Pro things:
1 - 1 shot little Eagles, a lot of fun when you pop them at first shot.
2 - AMMO - this was my first and bigger fear - yet, a full load of ammo was enough for me to do 30 + 20 =50 Pirate kills AND 3 Assassination missions ( 2 of them Elite Vets ..) yet I end up with 12/20 ammo extra for each gun ! ALL this time I did not need a single synth/reload ! In the FdL with MCs / rails, in such a run, I usually do 4-6 synth rearm...
3 - t he fact you can charge the weapon and only shot when you release the button is really great to place accurate / devastating hits, also allow sparing ammo in process .
4 - 4 of them hit as a train, is amazing how much damage can do - I run a FdL with 2 rails and 3 MCs but the damage output/salvo on the one equipped with Guardian weapons is at least double !
My aim is not great, ( I am an old dude) so I wait the target to get in ideal spot ( when turning) and the great speed of the weapon plasma bolts helps a lot to place the hits perfectly. One decent aimed salvo will take out shields in most medium, or half HP in a shieldless one.
Targeting the PP when fighting Conda/ Vette will usually pop them after only half dozens hits...

Now, the Cons:

1 - Power ! Indeed, you need always to keep an eye on pips ! Each shot with less than 1/3 filled in weap will start increasing your temperature fast. Very fast. Shot again in fast succession, and you reach 140-150 degree in an instant. BUT if you do, like me, in FdL, put 3 pips in Sys/and 3 in Weap you can shoot 2-3 salvos at will, then spray with the big MC until the pips recharge ( 5-10sec) - like that you wont get any heat problems. In case of necessity, with 4 pips in Wep, you can shoot fast, and finish a target very fast, if the need arrives.
2 - Fighting squads of 3-4 small/medium - here you must pay attention - this build is not as effective as a MC build, so you need to target first the most dangerous one, then proceed down the ladder, with boost runs to disengage if your shields go low... Using this method, in the 50 kills missions ( one of 30 one of 20, NOT stacked) I fought some 4.-5 squads of 4 and a dozen of 2 or 3 , and never my shields go lower than 60%...

Conclusion - great weapons, definitely a keeper, fun build in FdL, one of the best for Assassination missions.
