Modified Guardian Weapons

OK, so Fdev wants us to fight Thargoids. Has any one ever tried to take down a Grizzly bear with a sling-shot? We had a brief opportunity to tear out our own fingernails getting a few "Modified Guardian Weapons" to fight with but now even that's gone. So what now? I thought screwing up the ability to move our carriers around in a system was bad, worse was screwing up the Gal map so we HAD to use the mouse to do EVERYTHING on the map. Now, when we're trying to find weapons to go play tag with Thargoids they're gone too.
Where the Hell is Bright Sentinel? It ain't on the map. Can't get weapons anywhere else. So now what???
When I say "gone" they're not at Mbooni either. Bright Sentinel is not there.

There is a megaship (Glorious Prospect) one jump from Mbooni that you can run missions for to get rep and the permit. It's located in LHS 1163. Run missions for the faction Azimuth Biotech.
Once you have the permit, you can get the blue prints in Mbooni at Prospect Deep (Planetary base). You'll have to farm some guardian blueprints to unlock each weapon.

Edit: You can get the new AX weapons from some of the rescue mega ships as well if you don't want to do the guardian grind. They are really good weapons but rely heavily on how well you can scan a fast moving Thargoid. Once you scan them, you can target the hearts and the enhanced AX weapons will chew em up pretty good.

Getting a permit is pretty easy and can be done in a variety of ways, I did like 3 osmium mining missions that had rep on them and was done. The guardian is a pain, but what else is new. I did like 4 missions for weapons blueprints and 4 more for modules and I'm good.

I no longer find any need to complete a scan. You can see the exerted Thargoid heart and just shoot at it (I'm using mod shards). I'm not sure if hearts are brighter in Odyssey, they seem easier to spot lately.
