Modular Carriers

Just a thought about the future of Carriers.
Wouldn't it be nice if Carriers were a lot more modular - I know we can buy a bare bones carrier for 5 billion and then add facilities to it (Commodities Market, Workshops, Ship yard, outfitting restock, repair etc): I am thinking even more modular :
* Basic - 250ly jump range max - can carry no more than 5 other ships - limited to one extra facility on board - 30 miute spin up time for a jump - small tritium tank (enough for 2 max range jumps without refuelling
You can then add modules to it to expand :
  • Jump range module - basically bigger engine to get 500 ly jump range
  • Faster jump range - down to 15 minute spin up
  • More docking space - maybe add 5 more docks at a time.
  • More storage space for commodities
  • Bigger tritrium tank.
  • More facilities slots
Upkeep would depend on the 'modules' installed as well as the facilities you have enabled - so for example having more slots for facilities (even if they are in use) will invoke more upgrade costs.

The end 'game' would be carriers that we have now - So literally each carrier becomes a pick and mix of exactly the scale and jump range that the commander needs.

Commander can choose to expand as they or trade in - if a carrier that they want is available - carriers can be sold and bought like ships.

For example I don't need to dock 20 ships and probably never will - I would want a smal carrier - maybe 5 ships, repair and restock - why should i buy a carrier for 5 billion when i need around 1/2 or what such a carrier needs.
