Engineers Modular Terminal - not a single one found since 2.1 - 20+hrs gameplay

I suspect it was your relationship, cordial or friendly required.

Nah, it clearly said at the bottom something like "The required rank for this mission (Broker) is higher than your current rank (Dealer)". It just wouldn't allow me to accept it.

Still haven't had any luck on finding missions with these things as rewards :/ I'm in Deciat, Garay Terminal.

You must look across different systems and stations in order to find them quickly.

I agree with this. It actually feels like modular terminals are common that I start ignoring those missions rather than keeping them on my cargo hold for future use.

I found mines by going into a high tech system, I believe it's an important factor for the kind of rewards you can get

If you have an excess, maybe you should know that one of the Engineers wants 25 of these before he will work with you (Marco Qwent, get friendly with Elvira and she'll introduce you - he also needs the Sirius permit as he's based in that system). I have only ever completed two missions that rewards these, so I guess it is all about the clustering of random numbers; maybe when I get back from my current expedition I'll find a couple more - I'm just glad you don't have to deliver them all at once as I seem to attract a bit of attention from pirates whilst carrying anything in my hold, no matter how little.

It took a while for me to get 8 MTs. I flew to different systems and waited there and refreshed the mission board a few times before moving on. Of course after I didn't need them any more I went to a station that offered two missions rewarding 4 MTs each.

Yeah this is something that really needs work on :/ Having to fly around systems, refreshing over and over just to wait for a mission to spawn that will allow you to progress further with an engineer.. One needs to have a lot of time at their disposal to go through with this. . Perhaps, just like with missions, players should receive hints as to where these missions are spawning most, rather than just randomly hopping between systems until they just have enough luck. Or they should try tinkering with the spawn rates. Just like with chemical processors (Which seem to spawn quite rarely even though they're listed as "common" materials).

I tried refreshing first in a High Tech system and never got a single mission awarding these :/ It's just a matter of luck and random numbers it seems.

Argh! Modular Terminals.

That is all.

Alioth's my home base and can't find the darn things anywhere..... been doing missions for days around here.

Geez, after refreshing a lot since yesterday afternoon, I finally got a mission which handed me 4 modular terminals in Deciat. Am I just having bad luck? Hard to believe some people are finding dozens of these in such a short amount of time.

Rather than sitting an refreshing go do some missions for them and improve to cordial or better yet friendly. It takes roughly the same time and your advancing rank, reputation, money etc all at the same time. You will also see a lot more missions the next time you're in the area. I'm slowly gaining huge swaths of the galaxy where they love me and have a lot more missions offered.

Sitting and refreshing at a station is only efficient for stacking missions like Robigo IMO.

Yeah I was thinking about that, but I was really only interested in getting those Modular terminals.

I now have a 40ly+ jump range on my Asp :D That's just with Rank 3. So far I've had quite a bit of luck with these upgrades, getting the most out of them (Even if the negative effects tend to be pretty bad, like now I have trouble managing my power, and I hardly have anything installed. ).
