Engineers Modular Terminals

I'm looking for Modular Terminals, which is required for the a rank 3 FSD boost for my imperial courier.

According to this beta thread people have found them in the Market and from Mission rewards and objectives.

I haven't had any luck yet, so i'm wondering where have you seen them? Have you seen them on planet POI's for instance? :S

You get them as mission reward. Out of ~30 mission I did, I got 2 times Modular Terminals.

Yup. Mission rewards. I got 4 twice, so now I have 8. Sorry, I don't remember what the missions were, but I've only been playing ~6 hrs, so they're pretty common.

I (and others) have spotted them in High Tech systems as mission rewards. Once upon a time I thought they were regional but now I'm less sure. I have a mission for 4 I just picked up in Caeritis at Kooi Dock (High Tech Refiner). I'm cordial with the mission giver so it's possible that is related.

I'm allied with 3 factions in Anlave and am not getting them to pop up no matter how much I refresh the mission board. I don't think it's tied to rep, appears to be entirely random.

Edit: Two mission board refreshes after making this post a mission with them pops up. It was a commodity sourcing mission, and I'll be getting 4 for it. Definitely appears to be random to me. I refreshed boards for two hours last night with no hits.

I found them in Achenar and Liabeze as mission rewards, if that will help you.

That's an interesting coincidence, Anlave is where I found them in beta. So it may be random if they pop up but there could still be factors that improve the odds, ie you *might* find it in a High Tech system but you'll never find it in an agrictultural one.

I suspect over time a pattern similar to the original materials pattern in terms of planet type and rock type vs material type will emerge.

I've definitely found them in non-high tech systems. Qwent wants 25 of the things. I've taken 6 missions for them so far but only gave 15 of them to Qwent so I need to find 3 more.

Yep, I just got a mission at a surface refinery for them so it seems it's just random or close enough that it's indistinguishable from such.

I found one mission at He Qiong Doi survey (station). But the mission is kind of strange: Personal Effects Outbreak Salvage Contract. I was not able to find that stuff so far ...

Here's hoping! I don't mind them being random, but it would be nice to increase the odds by looking in specific places.

After days of searching no luck yet. Had to dump a lot of useful stuff that I cant use yet. This is a frustrating experience. :-(

4 from a mission reward out of SOL. Used one then lost the rest when my kid thought it would be fun to shoot the station. Luckily he was in his disposable viper, albiet with precious cargo...

If you're still having difficulty finding them, check out "Swap Shop" sticky thread - may be an alternative if you have something to offer in exchange.

4 days without finding them, that is a lot of time. if you had spent 4 days doing missions instead youd probably have now more millions, more reputation and the terminals with you.

it is not that you need that much luck when you look in the appropriate places, even if it is random.
