Module for Jumping out of Hyperspace?

One of my bigger complaints about this game is the unnecessary mini-game that takes form when coming out of hyperspace. Since I don't see a reason to install the game just to see if a new module is available to eliminate the need to manually come out of hyperspace I thought I'd simply ask here instead.

Thank you,

Its still that "minigame" to avoid the sun after you come out of hyperspace but it got less annoying and heat is more managable with the new 1.2 update.

Uh, guys, you know throttle settings are persistent even during loading screens right? Set your throttle to 0 after a hyperspace countdown starts and you'll exit in front of the star at 30km/s every time. The FSD will never drop you inside the heat barrier of a massive object so there's really no minigame to it at all. It's just remembering not to be at full throttle when you finish a jump.

I'm guessing he means coming out of sc? If so then no, simply throttle back to 70ish percent at 7 seconds then wait for the "safe to disengage" message appears. That's a mini game? Whatever I guess. Simple answer, no, no such module exists.

Smeg

He must be talking about Supercruise, not hypercruise, there is no manual way to drop out of HC (afaik).

Although I dont see what the problem is, exiting SC works fine.

I don't get this topic it makes no sense. "Minigame"? of avoiding the sun? really? it allows for quicker fuel scooping and jumping in at a central point allows you go to here you need to go easier, if you jumped in pointing away from the sun, if you needed to go another way, you'd need to turn all the way around? and yes you need to do that too if you need to go exactly 180 degree's from entering, but that is the only case, in all other cases it will allows you to turn towards your goal faster.

so yeah....I don't get it, it makes sense to point at the sun upon arrival.

It would appear this thread has devolved into semantics. I guess I haven't spent enough time with this game to adequately discuss this in terms you all recognize. I'll try again:

You know that part of the game were you want to get to a certain space station so you have to go really, really fast but then you have to stop going really, really fast so you don't overshoot the station but if you stop too soon you'll drop out when the station is still a distance away? You have to manually slow yourself down to an adequate speed because, somehow, even though we've achieved spaceflight to billions of solar systems we still don't have the technology to stop a flying space ship when it's the desired distance to the target space station? (which really, really sucks).

Ring any bells?

That's not a minigame any more than jumping over pits in Half Life is a minigame. It's the way to travel. As for removing it - why? Learn to do it instead of refusing to accept it.

I think this will become a module at some point. Seriously. Right after we get the Trade Module that automatically picks the best goods and route for you, and the Combat Module that takes care of all that pesky fly by skill thing. All of those plus your idea and docking computer and we're all on easy street my friend! Oh yeah, bring it on!

How about this for an explanation? We are moving through warped space at FTL speeds. It may not be actual FTL travel, but the effect is the same. You can't see anything when moving at that rate. We are presented with a simulated view of the current system based upon our futuristic sensor data and any historical cartographic information that might be available. Our actual position in space might not be precisely where the simulated view suggests. Dropping out of SC therefore always involves an element of uncertainty. Expecting autopilot to drop us out safely where we need to be is too risky, and exposes the ship manufacturer to unwanted liability, so they leave it to us to decide when we want to exit SC.

Not sure how pressing one button counts as a minigame, but yes it is still necessary to press that one button in order to slow down in SC. So no, there is still no reason for you to re-install the game. Cheerio.

Auto pilot is one of those requests that a lot still consider isn't likely to happen.

In the meantime, 100% throttle until 7 seconds away, then 75% throttle until about 6-7 ls distance, then 100% throttle.

If you suffer a stutter and your "time to target" falls below 6s, point your nose down at 75%throttle and wait to see the "slow down" disappear (if you're quick enough, it won't appear at all, so just wait for the tell tale sound of your engine giving).

If you hit a gravity well, your "time to target" may increase above 6s. Feel free to throttle to 100% until it drops back to 6.

6s is the magic number. If at 6 throttle down quick. Any higher, make it faster.

Now, to me, that's a very quick summary of it. But there's a reason it's more detailed than "point and sit".

I get it the "mini game" is annoying for some. But if there was no meaning to the use of throttle control, it would be even more mundane. The fact is, if you know all the tricks, you can get from a to b faster than those who don't.

If that sort of detail doesn't interest you, then that's fine. But I like it.

actually this is a great idea, would get one myself. countless times have i overshot by hundreds of LYs due to getting occupied with stuff actually happening on my second screen. or maybe a loud warning "hey dummy disengage in 3s"

You can do this by exploiting a Wing bug.

And FD won't be adding a module that completely removes NPC encounters from the game.

OP may as well just donate his copy of the game to someone who wants to play but can't afford to buy it.
