Currently when trying to upgrade a ship e.g. going from a 4E to a 4A fsd I need to use a 3rd party website to locate what system is selling the module I'm looking for within a 20 - 25 or 50Ly distance from where I am - is there a way a feature could be installed where you can search within the game?

Great idea.
Another option - if the station I am in does not have the module I want, let me order it, like I can in a real shop. If you can then add the module shipping cost to the price of the module so be it (though please don't factor the delivery cost in when calculating rebuy). This should work like transferring your own modules so the time would be dependant on how far away the nearest station is that sells the module you are after.
A bit like in a garage today - they need say an exhaust but not got the right one in stock so they ship it from the warehouse?
