Shiro Akai, your point is well made, to an extent I agree- it's partly why I don't exploit in such a way myself. I think it takes the fun out of it for me.
However, this exploit the OP points to is just one a long way down the line. Many players have explored the mechanics potentially a year or two ago. Since then they have, perhaps, done loads of exploring, engineered their ships, made lots of credits in other ways.
Clearly they could not have done this so effectively without the boost provided by the exploit but to reset people to that long ago is unreasonable. I'd go so far as to say unfair on them.
That the exploit needs to be shut seems right to me. That people should be 'punished' seems unfair. I think if action would be taken against those who have benefited from such exploits it should be something else. Quite what that should be, I have no idea at all. Like I say, my personal view is no action is required.
I might also put another view, have we all exploited to a degree? I do not do explored like that mentioned above. But I use the mission system a lot, my trade rank has gone up. But I'm not actually trading as such. I regularly run sightseeing passenger missions, my explorer rank goes up. Have I too, perhaps, benefitted unfairly? I accept it was never my intention, but given how Fdevs are changing the payments for passenger missions is it not the same principal?
