Money credits for being further from civilised space?

I've just read a post from a while ago that says the further away from civilised space you are, the more credits you'll get per scan per body. Is this true, can I expect to get more credits for the same type of astronomical object if I'm 30,000ly out rather than 5,000?

EDIT: Title's supposed to say 'More' credits, not 'Money'!

Never heard this before. There was a post regarding gaining more exploration rank from driving on planets the further you are from the Bubble but it didn't talk about more from scans.

Thanks all, didn't think there was a difference but just thought I'd check. It was a very old post so perhaps that's why it wasn't accurate.

Fly safe, commanders!

I recall reading a dev update that distant exploration counts higher for the purpose of rank progress, though.

Only for driving around the SRV. You do kind of get more exploration rank for being further away - you're more likely to make First Discoveries, which pay more and increase your rank faster.

Very true; as your distance from Sol increases and the number of previously scanned systems decreases, the amount you'll gain by exploring tends towards a 50% increase thanks to the bonus.

You do indeed increase Rank by driving an SRV. Not sure exactly how far you need to travel but I appear to have received 1% Rank increase after driving 100Kms.

Haven't done much driving lately so can't be sure on the next Rank increase target...
