Money Making Help (TRADING)

Hi! (I'm a noob at this! :D)

At the moment i am doing a trade run back and forth which gets me around 7k each trip, but its not enough... the type 6 is 1,045,000k (Around 1million).
Anyone have any tips on trading and how i can make money faster.

I only have a hauler with 18 cargo units (190k at the moment).

Thanks :)

Fetch missions are good for making money in the beginning. You often get missions that pay like 1-2k/t. My tactic there is to collect a few missions and do them bulk-wise, for example collect a few fetch-food-missions and then fly to an agricultural to get that stuff and haul it back to whoever requested it.

I did some mining in metallic (not metal rich) asteroids to get past the "not enough money to earn enough" point, palladium I think made me around 200k + in a few hours, then you can get a Cobra and that gets you access to big money cargo missions.
TBH I reckon you need a cargo ship with 100+ tonnes capacity to make trading viable, a Cobra just isn't big enough (fine for cargo missions) but a Lakon 6 should fit the bill

Any tips though? to get the money for the cobra in the first place? :)

I suggest you don't get the cobra, what I did was get a decent amount of cash for rare trading. So bounty hunt first with the eagle, then get around 500k or so and then buy a hauler with maxed out cargo, fsd for farthest jump and upgrade parts until you have the max fsd jump range. take out the shields, weapons and anything unnecessary, put a good fuel scoop and rare trade until type 6.

It works for me, since rare trading has been nerfed you have to use thrudds tool to find places close where you can stock goods to max, then take full cargo around 130-150 LY away.

I personally don't like the cobra, its multipurpose yes but I like viper for bounty hunting and the hauler is good enough with around 20 slots of cargo space, easy to replace and fix as well.

Its so difficult to find a station what gives out useful missions... i just keep getting battle missions, what i cannot do because in a fight i am useless :3

Check the station traffic reports. If more than 20-30 ships through in 24 hours then run away and find a quieter part of the galaxy with a cluster of rich systems (Hi-Tech/Refinery etc) with large populations. I guarantee you that you will find routes that pay you approx 2000-2500cr profit per ton per return journey. Alleviate trade boredom by running missions as well - that way you'll build up reputation with factions and the area you are in, be it Empire, Alliance of Federation.

Stay away from rares unless you want to sight-see as well. You will take three times longer to see the same profits as regular trading.

If you are still really struggling then PM me and I'll help you further.
