Money making opportunities and Trading made for late game?

Ok so i have been trying to find out whats a good way to earn money by trading in this game.. I love trading, i dont know why... probably something about running goods from station to station and risking the money! Fun. How ever its not a valid way to make money currently in my cobra (Unless i do it wrong, highly possible) So in my cobra Mk3 Atm i am earning 3-6k each run (not HORRIBLE) but not good either. seeing that each run takes 5-10minutes, deppending on where in the space they let you off and your destination. at the best and thats AT THE BEST its 36,000 credits each hour. 72,000 at 2hours. how ever, not done with trading yet.

When i go mining in my cobra, mining with a 2 hour limit in a metallic zone. I earn 200,000-240,000 a run. This is 100,000 to 120,000 credits Each hour or as mentioned 200 to 240,000 Credits at 2 hours... This is almost 3 times as much as Trading... Boring as tho. (might even get more... .who knows. I had 10 platinum within 1 and a half hour. So with luck you earn 200k quickly....

Bounty hunting... Well this is fun and its a fun way to make money. I dont know if its much quicker then mining and this will be counted a bit differently.
I have 2000 Ammunition when this thing is depleted (deppending on the quality of resource site) I have earned 60-100k... IF your really lucky, you can get a anaconda worth 150-240k wich adds you up to 300k in no time... I have literally been doing bounty hunting since last night (not constantly been playing) And i have earned 600k through that. and at the rate I earn money i would say its about 100-150k each hour. leaving to 200-300k at 2 hour mark (If lucky) BUT its really fun... Not as fun as trading in my opinion, but fun wich totally changes the factum that even tho mining MIGHT be quicker....... Bounty hunting feels better.

I havent done exploring or Pirating, so i cant talk for those...

Ok so back to trading... IS it even worth it at all in the game? and the answer is YES but its late game money making, not early game. I would personally rather camikaze into a resource site with my sidewinder then trade or mine for that sake...

Ok so how is trading worth while? well the answer seems simple... Lakon type-7 Transporter or Lakon type-9 Transporter.

The type-7 have 100 cargo capacity I believe. So that adds every trading route you do an additional 0 on the money check.. So lets say you drive teddy bears for 200 profit each that would be 20,000 credits for that trip... 20,000 credits for 5 minutes isnt bad.. if you have 500 credit per Teddy bear you get 50,000 pr 5 minutes. so lets say you got a 1 jump route... Transporting black teddy bears one way and pink teddy bears the other way and they have those prices... Thats 70k in 10 minutes... 420k a hour. NOW We're talking money.... but keep in mind tho that this is not accurate since i dont really know, its just assumtion. And the price for the type-7 is 17,500,000 (rounded off)

The type-9... Well its one big mother ---- :D I Dont think it needs an explaination when the type 7 ^ can do that much. This thing is just a monster. and the price.... Lets just not go there, something 70 millions or something! LOL but its gonna earn some real money if i am correct.

So is trading for late game?

Trading is worth it if you know where to look, I'm making roughly 1200cr per ton in my Asp with 96t cargo bay, that's roughly 116k a trip one way. So it is possible to make money, was a lot easier before they broke the economy though.

With a Lakon 7 you should be making 1-2 million per hour, with a Lakon 9 around 2-4 million per hour. Trading atm is a bit hit and miss as the Devs tweak it.

Its pointless asking for help. People will tell you what they make, but won't show their route for fear of it drying up. The way this game is made promotes anti-social tendencies by forcing players to find a profitable route and hide from others while they make money.

Even on sites like elite trader reddit, people have stopped helping. The only buzz around helping is with rares as that its a personal allotment and giving people good rare runs won't dry the market.

Also trading tools are starting to show the war on trading now. People are not sharing routes and some people are maliciously inputting bad data into the streams to throw off trading routes. Until devs support an api and open the data up to the public, expect to be on your own and the small majority to keep illegally scraping and profiting more than the legitimate users.

Well as i said Spion, it was just an assumtion and seeing that its even 1-2 million each hour..... WELL :p I Dont know how to make money through trading, and i really want to know that wich is why i made this post. cus i dont really enjoy bounty hunting as much. But yeah ^^ from my stand point the trading route of things seems a bit lackluster

Yepp, i've noticed. Its really sad tbh

Type 6, which can carry 104 cargo (with shields) is by no means a late game ship.

Now lets see, cobra with shoields should carry 44 cargo, if i remember correctly. Your every day, easy to find route will give you at least 800 credits per unit both ways (yeah, i know, im talking about very common routes), so you should be making 35k per round trip. So, 28 trips and you can afford to haul 104 tons. 28 trips, 56 jumps- its 2-3 days of playing... How is it a "late game"?

Oh, and Type 7 can haul about 200 tons of cargo...

Not true. Proof? Liabeze sells cheap gold, 8700 per ton. You can sell it at 9500-9700 in nearby systems. See?

Start trading rare goods. A good Point is Lave. Use the datasheet :

https://forums.frontier.co.uk/showthread.php?t=63119&highlight=RARE

and find a route that fits you. Travel at least 100 to 150 Ly to sell it. Gets the best amount per ton. At the selldestination pick up other rare and return.
I´ve build me a route. Gets me with a trip 2.2 Million credits for 90 min work. And ist fun to me. I use a Type-6 with 64 ton cargo space.

Check these places around Lave:

Lave
Leesti
Diso
Orreian
Uszaa

Cargohold full and start. The rest is up to you :) Thats the fun with it...

The Type-6 is a good ship. Performs well for that task. You should upgrade if you can afford it. Put a class 5 shield in it and upgrade the FSD. Empty it does nearly 27 Ly and full 19. Good enough...

Insurance cost now that is it nearly A rated is close to 300.000 cr. So keep enough at the side if something happens.

So if i find a rare goods starting location not so far from where i currently am, 1 trip should almost net me enough to buy the Type 6 then as i sit on almost 600k. :) But i need some money to keep transporting goods tho obiviously.

Don't speak for all Commanders, hit me up and I will give you some worthwhile routes.

Don't forget that cargo racks can be swapped out for higher-capacity versions in Outfitting.

Yeah i know, but i thought it was something like this, Type 7 100, and the type 9 1000 But it seems like quite the difference then :p

Keep in mind that you need a few credits to upgrade your flying brick :) And you should head out to lave. Here are a lot stations that sell rares as you see in my post above. Get your cargohold full and travel around 150 Ly away. Sell it. With 64 tons of cargo you get at least one million credits.

And ask if you have questions. As Cmdr. Kane Vilorde told here are enough that help starters...

But keep in mind to get the ship well defended. Heavy shields (Class 5), shieldcells(Class 2), Chaff, Flare, Point defense and a fuel scoop (Class 3). No weapons needed. The Type-6 is not build for combat. Sell the weapons and save the energy. Put one Class 5 cargohold and two Class 4 in it. Gets you 64 tons cargo space. Run to make money !!!!!

If you wish add me ingame. So we do the Lave-run togehter. Name is Jim Panse.

Respawn every 9 to 10 minutes. Max for commodity depends on commodity :) not more than 15 to max. 16 per rare. So you need time... but i like it. Its like reallife .hehe. Use the other thread for info gathering. Its usefull but you have to read it.
