Hi guys. This is my first post on the forum.

I currently havr a cobra with quad pulse lasers,cargo space of 30 and a fuel scoop. Now the problem is that i crashed in the space station in brani and even with shields up it killed me off. I lost 300,000 credits and then with the insurance ended up with on 1000 credits and my cobra left.

Now the question is where do i go from here. Should i trade down to hauler and use what credits i get for cobra to trade goods. Bounty hunt in cobra? Not sure what would be the fastest way back to how i was.

And just before any one says it. Yes i know i had all my eggs in one basket buy hay i still had insurance covered.

I would sell some upgrades so you have enough for insurance and some cargo. If that doesn't work move to an adder and earn some more cash. There are some good threads on the forum that show some good, easy trade routes to help you get back on your feet.

The Key lesson is, always have enough cash for multiple insurances and multiple loads of cargo spare.

Well if you're sure of your skills (and will not crash into a solid object at high speed again), just bounty hunt. You will get your insurance in no time. Personally I'll downgrade to a Viper/Eagle for combat and Adder/Hauler for trading, keeping above the insurance amount.

Run some missions from the bulletin board then once you have some credits switch back to trading.

Also bounty hunting can be fun for trading seed capital.

This really depends on your skills. If you are good in combat you can go to the nav beacon at any controlled system (i.e. non-anarchy) and bounty hunt there. Although, fixed pulse lasers on small hardpoints are almost useless on Cobra, these are better to be equipped with gimballed weapons when you have enough money.

Sure you can trade down the ship but why hauler then? I think adder would be better.

Might help you to fit docking computer, this will reduce the potential for you to crash in/into stations when docking.

Thank you for all the replies. I might try the bounty hunter idea first. The trade once i have a bit of cash back. Its gimball quad pulse lasers btw. Which work a dream.
