Money raised is going up faster after the Alpha

One (of the many) clever things that Cloud Imperium did for Star Citizen is put out a lot of very good visuals (videos, conecpt art, ship renders and ship adverts, etc) which has created a lot of excitment for the game.
Frontier hasnt put out nearly as much of this type of content as they have, so because people cant see what they are getting I imagine that has had an impact on how many people have signed up.
We are very visually driven as a whole, so I agree that now that a lot of Alpha (and later Beta) videos are hitting youtube the interest in ED will climb and drive more backers to join.

I think a lot of us who pledged at beta will be reviewing that decision after watching the amazingly polished alpha videos
This is true, but the stuff that star citizen are putting out is nothing but marketing solutions, and really cheesy ones at that! still no gameplay what so ever
Thats true but looks like people are happy with what they have so far in SC, for me i hope they bought succeed cause am going to be playing bought of them, i wasted 1000e on a PC for these games so i hope they don't flop.
Remember to get the expansion pack cause after release it might not be there any more.
I think the exuberant praise for the alpha by all the testers has been just as important as the streams and clips. The ED threads on the SC forums have been more positive recently with several people saying they have revised their opinion and are now backing the final release or beta.
That sounds a little like scepticism to me!
I haven't really been following it but I have seen the odd video. Right now, isn't the only thing they have is a hanger with the ships they have bought inside. You can't fly them or anything right? I did see one video with someone charging about their hanger on some sort of 4WD vehicle. So is that about it for SC right now?
