monitors made me laugh anyway as a main screen

well as I have all the knowledge of a house brick as far as hi tech goes
I tend to ring a mate who is as geeky as a geeky geek can get
so I says what do you recommend as a monitor for me as a blind old git
ah he says yama 28 in foky tuky ( this spelling has be adapted for any kiddys ) look on net !
yeah right says I English not being his first language and knowing what a numpty im going to look down at at PC world repeating what he told me

turns out its an ilyama 4k2K 28 in and they are around £380 a throw

now the question is if I buys one of these can I use my existing 24 in as a 2nd screen I got a 1 gb sapphire amd gt370 card or am I going to have to upgrade that as well or am I better off buying another 2 24 in screens @around the same money

I can see this being a bloody expensive game still as the missus says
it keeps him quiet and I know hes not out chasing women and beer

many thanks for your responses
dave

You sir are english as f*** lol

You wont be able to run the game across both screens, but i would think you could run a second monitor just fine. That is if that card can output to two.

And i doubt that card will run Elite at 4k resolution and be playable. You would be better off upgrading your GPU.

Likely you will need at least a GTX 770 (though more likely a GTX 780) to run the game at 4k resolution - which is a very high image quality, and therefore needs a lot of horsepower.

Trouble is a GPU like that is going to cost between £260 and £400.

I guessed as much when I built this system I was reluctant to buy a high end graphics card as I knew id be changing the monitor at some point in the near future and if I do buy a 4k in going to be seeing even less of the dark red gunsight maybe ill hang on a while £700 is a bit rich for a 4in monitor upgrade
I might have to work a Sunday or two as overtime even and she who must be obayed will probably want a new frock or handbag as well where will it end
nearly as dear as owning a motorbike this game
