Ah, the Human propensity for finding faces in random patterns is once again illustrated.
I'm as guilty as anyone. Check out my
Dragon's Head nebula. It's even got two foreground stars for eyes!
The image doesn't work

atleast not right now. Could be my 3G connection!
Originally, the Monkey Head Nebula looked like a "macho man" (standing up muscly guy, flexing both arms towards his head) from much further away, and higher on the galactic plain.
But it was quite small back then.
After awhile it just looks like a mess. Until I random looked at it upside down. Lol
Then it became the Monkey Head Nebula!
You can get about 200-300ly closer before it deforms. It fills up most of the canopy, But it looks blurry, so I preferred the further screenshot, which looks sharp from that distance.
About 60ish ly from that screenshot is a system with an ELW, in orbit with 2 Water world's within 3ls, with good views of the Nebula!
Any 'monkey faced' intelligence on that planet would probably assume that's their God of some kind staring in to space.
So far, I've not found anything exciting inside a Nebula, so I tend to just loop around then and have a look what shapes I can see. Lol
