Monsterous Assortment of Stars

So, I'm currently on my way to the Eta Carina Nebula when I came across this beautiful collection of assorted stars.

I wasn't the first one to discover this. That honor would go to CMDR Princess Luna.
There's just so damn many stars.

Also caught this from the planet that you can see me on from the image above:

Being a planet 7x the mass of the Earth and 2x the radius, it was fun getting down there to get that picture, and waiting for your ship to get back after accidently dismissing it.

I never did get the size of that star, but it's categorized as a giant.

Clearly not a record breaker, but something fun to come across once in a while journeying through space.

This is an excellent example of what the Galactic Mapping Project is looking for in terms of submissions of unusual places for Points of Interest. If you can, head over to that thread and submit this system. You can find the submission format here under "Submitting Points of Interest".

Geez, I'm reasonably well versed in 2001's terminology, etc, but I couldn't think of the reference, without that hint. Tycho Magnetic Anomaly. And it's full of stars. Got it. :D

Heh, and my ship is even named appropriately, with the right serial number:
