Month-Long Struggle: Can't Buy Fleet Carrier - Error Keeps Popping Up

I'm finding this incredibly frustrating. For a whole month, I've been trying to purchase a fleet carrier. I have the credits, yet I keep encountering an error. I've successfully bought multiple pre-built ships without any problems whatsoever, so this situation feels unfair. What could possibly be the reason for this?

You might try asking this in a forum where people might see it - in general you would have more chance of someone who has experience of this difficulty in the Dangerous Discussions forum for example.

Similarly, a screenshot of the error message would be helpful.

What system is the Fleet carrier vendor in where you are trying to buy a carrier from ?
What is the error message?

You are actually in a fleet carrier vendor system? Pre-built ships are purchased with ARX's and can be purchased anywhere you are, but FC's can only be purchased when in the correct system, it's not clear at all from your post what problem you are having, pre-built ships have absolutely nothing to do with Fleet Carriers so saying you can buy them but not FC's is entirely irrelevant.
