Astronomy / Space Moon Landing with Oculus Rift

Robot will beam live Moon pictures to Oculus users

"Scientists at Carnegie Mellon University have developed a robot which they plan to land on the Moon to act as eyes for Earth-bound space enthusiasts..."

Apart from being awesome, this does demonstrate one of the best, imo, key features for the Rift- streaming. It would be pretty fabulous to have a 3D camera on mars too...

$30 million price

Hi,

I believe they are going for the $30 million prize for the first team to put a robotic rover on the moon, move 500 metres in any direction and take video.

I hope they do it as what an advert for the rift. Plus what an amazing experience it would be to view the moon from that prospective.
