Morai CG Payment

I've been providing a clear rationale to support what I've been arguing. I've even quoted and given references about the average number of hours played by Elite players (which I was asked for) or to support my comments about core aspects of Elite gameplay being "boring" after Ozram tried to tell me that it was simply "my subjective opinion" despite being clearly referenced in various game reviews. I really don't see how my arguments could be more rational or well-supported given that I have provided evidence or support for the statements and conclusions I've been making about the state of Elite gameplay, specifically in the context of why the ludicrious CG payments affect game balance negatively.

In return, the replies I've received have generally been far less constructive, or in the case of the KoS list nonsense have actually violated the TOS of the game we're discussing.

Nothing you've said so far has been a meaningful discussion about the content of what I'm arguing. You've been focusing on telling me how much you don't like HOW I've been making my arguments. I've been focusing on providing references for what I'm arguing, numerical comparisons and various other examples to back up the argument I'm making.

If you want to have a proper discussion, you need to get past the knee-jerk emotional reactions where you're trying to argue against me personally simply because you "don't like" my posts or the way I deliver my argument, and actually focus on the topic in question.

The fact that this thread has still not been locked by the mods after 39 pages despite all of the nonsense I've had leveled at me personally is because I've managed to keep the discussion on-topic, have generally remained civil and have consistently ignored various attempts to derail it.

Read my posts again. The issue isn't whether the concept of something being "boring" is subjective. The issue is that aspects of Elite being boring it is an opinion that is clearly shared by various professional game reviews of the game. Subjectivity doesn't mean that an opinion can't be widely agreed upon or shared by many people, or that you personally disagreeing with a widely shared opinion somehow "refutes" that opinion.

You realize in almost the very same breath you opined that the thread is still open because of how you're keeping it on subject (congrats), but now diving into an argument on the value of subjectivity with Ozram and myself which has nothing to do CG payouts?

Spinning this into me personally attacking you is not going to work. I've criticized the way you argue, not you as a person. It's a valid point if you want to continue having good discourse with other posters here including me. Are we expected to ignore your passive aggressiveness, condescension and then expect to bow down when you play the victim card?

Give me a break.

your idea that someone can't say terminator 2 is boring because a ton of people liked is unreal. In the same way you're trying to say you're more "right" about Elite's mechanics being boring because some people at IGN and Gamespot and others have said it is also unreal. Critic consensus on art rely on culture, age groups, timeliness, demographics and so on. All things that are malleable, and it's not going to make your thoughts on elite's "boring" mechanics and less subjective or more impactful.

When a number of professional game reviews all agree on a particular aspect of a game, and in fact discuss it as being central to the game's experience and theme, that gives it a credibility that your "opinion" simply doesn't have. The opinion I referred to about some aspects of Elite being boring is widely shared by game reviews that described exactly which aspects of gameplay they found to be boring or dull. Your opinion, in comparison, is simply a random forum post with nothing to back it up or support it. Your argument consists of nothing more than saying "well boring is subjective" and doesn't address the aspects of Elite gameplay that the reviewers found boring.

A rational argument doesn't work like that. You can't just say "I disagree" and expect that to hold any weight. Either you're incapable of making a rational argument or you actually think that your efforts to "refute" a common consensus opinion among game reviewer is actually a sufficient "argument".

Spinning this into me personally attacking you is not going to work. I've criticized the way you argue, not you as a person.

Arguing against my post being "condescending" in no way addresses the argument in question. It's a thin surrogate for a personal attack, except because this is the internet and you don't know me personally the best you can do is argue against the "tone" of my posts instead.
