More attractions like the San Diego amphitheater and they should be placeable.

Should have been able to place the amphitheatre from day one.

I can't even believe that is not placeable, like most of the things missing most of it feels like mere oversight, time constraints, and lack of polish. Its dumb that you can't place it at all and it only appears on that one map and cannot be moved. It should be treated similarly to the Control Centre in that you can have 1 of them, and once you decide to place that building down, you can't have anymore.

can only agree, there are still so many buildings, scenery objects, single trees and a real sandbox mode missing with all features unlocked. For me, the game does not seem like a real part 2, more like a 1.5! Also can't understand that Frontier is so stingy here and completely deviates from games like Planet Zoo, can't imagine that Universal is so strict in the specifications there. I have unfortunately lost the fun to play the game after a short time and I was so excited, love games like Planet Zoo and Planet Coaster and have all the DLCs. And I don't necessarily have to build individual buildings, I think the modular system in JWE2 is well solved, but the details around it, there is still so much missing...

Universal has a reputation for being difficult to work with for game studios. This difficulty is probably why so few games based on Jurassic properties get released, most studios don't want to deal with them. I bet this is why so many of their properties are mobile or LEGO games these days as well as a general lack of interest on Universal's part to reach out to studios. Frontier almost certainly had to have approached Universal with a pitch rather than the other way around, but that also means working with Universal and the general state of the AAA industry.

Universal can be stingy about what is allowed which also reminds me of Frontier being proud of getting the Jeep license only to have to pass on it for JWE2 given the destructibility aspect. Sounds dumb and it is, but auto manufacturers don't like their products being viewed in a destroyed state and will general charge you higher licensing fees to offset perceived brand damage. Frontier wasn't likely willing to pay those exorbitant and fees and went with something close enough instead, wasn't worth the financial sacrifice probably why Chris Pratt won't voice Owen, I bet with his star power that his asking price is too steep for Frontier to consider worth the investment.

JWE2 felt like it had to be released by the end of the fiscal year for Frontier's investors especially after that Elite Dangerous DLC caused so much controversy and failed to meet expectations. Then there is the matter that the AAA gaming industry is also too reliant on patching to fix games post-launch rather than thorough QA testing and polishing before release.

Its a bit disappointing, but at the same time, I also want JWE2 to have its own identity rather than being a Planet Zoo or Planet Coaster clone. Frontier & Universal also likely agreed to releasing JWE2 onto last generation consoles because of the install base and maximizing their sales even if it actually hampered the game itself. The older consoles have been awful when it comes to their processing power in favor of graphics performance. Its only the latest consoles from Sony and Microsoft that they actually beefed up the CPUs which RTS and simulators that Frontier specializes in are much more heavily dependent on. Then there is memory limitations which is the probable explanation for why mixed eras aren't on PS4/Xbox One.

Give JWE2 another 2-3 patches and it will probably be close to what we expected at launch.

yeah I don't understand why we can't place it in other parks. The only thing that would bother me is the word "San Diego" being displayed, but it's not really a big deal.

I usually don't think desert when I think San Diego either, so some liberty was already taken there and trying to blend it into the wider California environment. So, I am not sure the words San Diego on the amphitheatre do much harm. It's all in the name of fun, the Five Deaths didn't have their own Jurassic Worlds either, but it was reasonable enough. The fact this wasn't fixed in the update is a bit of a letdown. You can remove it altogether by flattening the map in Sandbox, but still no ability to place it freely.

I would love the ability to build it anywhere. The San Diego map is already awful due to that rock/hill on the east side that you can't build on. I started a park there in the sandbox, only to abandon it after many hours because of it.

The only reason to play that map now is to have San Diego as a backdrop and the Amphitheater itself.

Furthermore, the arena itself uses the desert rock texture - just imagine if you could change that as well when building on other maps.

Edit: I'd also like to add that while virtually the entire community wants the T Rex Kingdom, I would have no objection of Frontier wished to use their own imaginations to provide us with similar grand structures that are not featured in the franchise.
