More carnivores liking each other.

I find it slighty odd how carnivores tolerating other carnivores is restricted to a few species in a sorta arbitrary way, so, perhaps expanding the system to allow for a bit more flexibility (even if it is always a risk to mix those species) would prove to be enriching. I'll post my 2 cents:

-Coelophysis liking and being liked by Herrerasaurus, Dilophosaurus and Cryolophosaurus: Coelophysids were quite widespread in the Triassic and early jurassic, living alongside larger predators ala jackals; in fact, there is an species assigned to Coelophysis found in the same Kayenta formation as Dilophosaurus.

-Dilophosaurus and Cryolophosaurus liking each other: Same justification as Carnotaurus and Majungasaurus, or Baryonyx and Suchomimus: Related species; plus, larger carnivore surrounded by smaller ones looks neat and was commonly seen in the first game.

-Proceratosaurus, Metriacanthosaurus and Megalosaurus liking each other: Lived in the same place at roughly the same time. Same argument may apply to Acrocanthosaurus and Deinonychus, Troodon and Albertosaurus, or Qianzhousaurus and Velociraptor.

-Ceratosaurus liking and being liked by Carnotaurus and Majungasaurus: The abelisaurs like each other, so, why not add into the club their Jurassic cousin?

-Baryonyx and Suchomimus liking and being liked by Spinosaurus and Megalosaurus: Same logic: the Baryonychines like each other, why not add into the mix their big cousin and their Jurassic meat-loving cousin?

-Acrocanthosaurus, Carcharodontosaurus and Giganotosaurus liking each other and Allosaurus and Metriacanthosaurus: Same logic once again, plus, Carcharodontosaurus and Acrocanthosaurus as BFFs has been a popular approach since 2003 in these games.

-Tyrannosaurus, Albertosaurus, Qianzhousaurus and Proceratosaurus liking each other: Same deal yet again, although this one is trickier, as the medium sized tyrannosaurs, rather than liking each other, like an specific abelisaur apiece instead in the game right now.

-Velociraptor and Deinonychus liking each other: I wager this one would depend on Dominion plot developments going by some leaked details, but, social intelligent animals will be willing to bond with similar things if lonely.

Much of this does not make sense. A large predator like Tyrannosaurus will not tolerate another large predator like Albertosaurus. They occupied similar niches. Nor did they ever meet in the first place.

Only when they occupy significantly different niches does it make sense that they would tolerate each other. Proceratosaurus and Metriacanthosaurus? Sure maybe. Those are different enough that they wouldn't fight for the same food source and would be more likely to tolerate each other.
Same would go for Spinosaurus and Carcharodontosaurus perhaps. While both are gigantic, they have a significantly different lifestyle.

But animals like Baryonyx and Suchomimus would not have liked each other most likely.

Similar niche creates competition, which breeds conflict. It's true for the herbivores, and exponentially more critical among carnivores. Similar dinos aren't going to like each other; quite the opposite. And it's also worth pointing out that there is a major difference between dinosaurs who we know lived in the same time and geographic region vs. who we should expect to cohabit peacefully in the same zoo enclosure: large and small carnivores fill different niches on the game trail, but they make their dens where they sleep many miles apart for a reason.

Baryonyx and Suchomimus like each other already in-game. Socialization between similar animals on an individual basis is common (and specially between herbivores). And hell, when you have wildborn hybrids of blue and fin whales, the largest and second largest animal ever, with HUGE energetic demands, well... it isn't really that clear cut.

Not every animal is a cichlid.
