Dinosaurs More Dynamic Dinosaur Interaction

Your Feature Request / Idea
New member here! This a is a bit more than just one singular request, but more of a broad idea with a few examples, so I hope it'll be in line with the posting rules. I apologize in advance if I put too much in.
First off, I adore this game, and with more time and love it can become something truly marvelous. This game has some of the best-looking, most lifelike dinosaurs I've ever seen in a video game. Given more time and work, they could become even more immersive. The grouping and sleep mechanic was a great start, but this post is going to specifically cover dinosaur interaction.

When two dinosaurs of the same species are together, the scope of their interactions includes the socialization state, a lethal confrontation, or a nonlethal confrontation (which I believe should be more physical, rather than just a quick standoff, but I'm going to make a separate post about that). The dinosaurs should have more fluid, dynamic interactions. This is obviously easier said than done, but I have some suggestions. First off, socialization should be expanded beyond a simple (but adorable) conversation; it could become a diverse assortment of interactions. Socialization could involve physical play-fighting, where two dinosaurs engage in a joined animation in which they tussle for stimulation. Socialization could also involve two dinosaurs chasing one another, with one being the chaser and the other the runner. When one catches the other, the two switch roles. Perhaps dinosaurs could groom one another during socialization (picking at their kin's hide for debris/bugs/etc) and huddle together for warmth during the night or during inclement weather. The entire 'socialization' function could become an entire array of various interactions, rather than a simple chat. It would be wonderful to see sociable species display more behaviors to match their sociability, because to me, the best part of JWE is simply watching these animals live and interact. Dinosaurs were likely very animated, colorful creatures (both physically and metaphorically) and I'd LOVE to see them grow increasingly ALIVE as time passes.

One final note on dinosaur interaction is the possible enhancement of interactions between two different species. Consider this: if you introduce a Parasaurolophus to an exhibit comprised entirely of Triceratops, for example, those ceratopsian denizens would no doubt display some measure of curiosity for their new roommate. These animals are reared in a confined environment then released upon an enclosed pasture that will likely comprise everything they'll ever know. Seeing a creature that looks wholly different from your siblings would definitely draw some interest. Perhaps dinosaurs of different species' could observe one another more deeply, perhaps sniffing them upon contact and studying their actions curiously. Perhaps socialization could be shared between these two species in some ways (perhaps they could develop an inter-species bond of some sort).
I hope this thread provides some constructive contemplation for the future of our beloved dinosaurs' AI !

I too would like to see more interactions between the dinosaurs. They can also expand a little with how dinos challenge for alpha status - they could have actual fights though they would deal significantly reduced amounts of damage compared to normal fighting. For the alpha disputes only, each contesting dinosaur would receive a dmg buff that scales with their rating, and once a dino reaches, for example, 50% hp, then the fight ends and the victor roars and claims alpha status. Pachycephalosaurs could butt heads, Ceratopsians could lock horns, Stegosaurs/Ankylosaurs could shove each other around and/or slam their tails on the ground, carnivores could do what they do normally (though id always welcome new animations). As it is currently, its very hard to tell when dinos are just fighting because of max social, or if its actually alpha disputes.

I agree with both of you!

Though the idea of "interspecies co-existing" I don't see happening. Like you said in your example, the Trikes might be curious. That's true. Or they might see the Para as an intruder and immediately attack it... Who knows. Usually animals doesn't interact like that, unless they've been brought up together from birth.
