More exploration please? life forms.

I'd love to land on planets and discover life forms.
If it turns out to be something that can't be done, perhaps a drone style exploration. Extrasolar.com has a neat game were you explore an alien planet. So, even if we can't land on a planet, maybe we could drop a drone down and explore a procedurally generated planet. Sort of a mini game.

Drones and rovers would be a great addition to ED. Imagine loading your Asp up with a drone that can fly through the high atmosphere of a gas giant or one that can dive under the water on a waterworld or land on the surface of newly discovered Earthike planet.

I'd love to hear everyone's thoughts or ideas.

I would be happy with Random Exploration Anomalies. They wouldn't have to much more than variations in the text, say finding a weird mineral, prebiotic chemicals on an unexpected world, or strange linear shapes that seem unlikely to be natural. Just to spice things up before we get to planetary landings.

I think David Braben said that he'd love to see that… and the rover thing…
Same way he said that he'd love to see that selling exploration datas to 2 different factions would get you in trouble…
There is what they would like to see, and what will actually make it to the game.
Like I said, patience…
