More 'general' questions re: BGS

I've seen mention in different places that there is a cap on the amount of influence a player can get for a Faction; basically that after running many missions, trading, etc. in a 24-hour period the influence gain diminishes dramatically-- is that true, and if so is there any place in-game where I can see information that would indicate were I stand in regards to that 'cap'?

When taking missions to increase influence for a faction if the faction controls a station is there a hidden 'weight' to the missions run from that station for the Faction versus running same type of mission for that Faction from a nearby station where another Faction is in control? For example: if I see a 'courier type' mission at the station controlled by Faction-A which gives 'influence+++' and in same system at a station controlled by Faction-B I see a 'courier type' mission given by Faction-A for 'influence+++' will the positive affect of the two missions be the same for Faction-A, irregardless of which station I get them from?

Thank you for your time and assistance.

a faction is capped on the influence it can gain; this cap is not per player but per faction per system.

this older but golder thread looks at those caps: https://forums.frontier.co.uk/threads/influence-caps-gains-and-the-wine-analogy.423837/

basically that after running many missions, trading, etc. in a 24-hour period the influence gain diminishes dramatically-- is that true,
this is also true, but independently from the above.
there are diminishing returns on different type of actions, even before you hit the cap a faction can gain. which is why you want to pull all different levers instead of hammering one.

this for exampel is the curve on bounties:

You get >90% for 4,5 Mio of what you get for ~8 Mio.
You get around 80% for 3 Mio of what you get for ~8 Mio.
You get ~50% for 1 Mio of what you get for ~8 Mio.
And you get ~20% for 350K (!) of what you get for ~8 Mio.

and if so is there any place in-game where I can see information that would indicate were I stand in regards to that 'cap'?
no.

no, mission influence effects are faction-bound, and therefore it doesn't matter from which station you take them. same as for bounties issued by that faction - it counts anywhere in system you hand those in, if the faction is present in system.
influence effects of trade and exploration data go to the station controlling faction.

p.s.: generally people are hitting diminishing returns or the influence cap much earlier than they expect. unopposed the bgs is less grindy than most presume. look at the in-station traffic- and bounty reports to get an idea how much you have to counter.

Yeah if you're unopposed in a system you'll notice good gains but if several players oppose you it'll feel like anything you did was wasted effort. So if your system sees any noticeable traffic you need have multiple people helping you or it'll be a struggle.
