More Ideas

I posted a thread with ideas to improve the game before (link). I have a few more now and want to know what people think.

  1. Ability to steal exploration data
    1. Would add a bit more danger to exploration
    2. Would add a new piracy path
  2. Ability to transfer credits to another player
    1. Dropping cargo as payment takes a long time
    2. Cargo canisters can get destroyed easily
  3. When an NPC pirate interdicts a player, they do a cargo scan before they start shooting
    1. If there is no cargo, the pirate leaves
    2. Prevents unnecessary destruction of players who have no cargo to drop.
  4. Limpets do NOT count as cargo to pirates
    1. When a pirate scans you, it sees limpets as cargo, and will try to steal them, even though they cannot be sold.
  5. Rather than nerfing shield cells, put a limit on the frequency they can be used, i.e., add a cooldown
  6. Add black markets to system data on the galaxy map
  7. Add ship naming
  8. Allow the slaving of the drives and FSD of a second ship to the first; this would allow the transport of ships from one station to another.
  9. Ability to buy goods from Luxuries Traders

Allowing the transfer of Credits to other players will result in players selling credits in the real world. This is a murky business that would undermine the game. As a result I wouldn't want to see this happen.

I don't think Black Market data should appear on the Galaxy map. The markets are shady / secret and illegal. Hopefully this will be the case when we can walk around stations. I.E. finding a black market contact will be part of the game play.

Seeking Luxuries only exist in boom economies where they buy Performance Enhancers for a higher price than normal. Why would you want to buy them from a ship that is selling for much, much more than you can buy them at a station?
