This is just me musing out loud, curious what other people feel, but...
It seems to me that unless a system is in anarchy the actual type of Government in place doesn't seem to do much more then change the pre-fix of a faction name (Unionists vs Loyalists vs Corporation etc).
Would people find it compelling if different Government systems had significant differences in rules/conduct? Like Tyrannical systems might be less likely to fine versus going straight for a space-execution, Republic/Democratic states may have less of a strong military presence but are much more strict about fines/conduct? Communist systems might produce more industry-type commodities but be very minimal on personal commodities?
I mean, I can hop over 60 light years of space and not feel like much has changed in terms of the human factor. Especially for independent or alliance systems which aren't defined in the same way by their allegiance to a larger faction.
Am I the only one who would find this enjoyable or are there others?
