More Information on Combat Mission Description

I think the combat missions like the assassination missions could use more information to help on deciding whether or not to accept them. I can't count the ammount of times I've accepted a low paying, supposed to be easy mission, fly out to the location, hunt down the target only to find out it's a anaconda in a wing of 4 vultures. Causing me to abandon the mission and fly all the way back. A simple note of what the target is flying or if they are in a wing would do great and save lots of time when deciding what missions to take.

That's too easy. But more fluff text like why we should even kill these assassination targets. Stuff like rival company/faction leader, known terrorist or other form of criminal, or maybe you're being hired by some guy's wife to 86 the husband because she's tired of him and wants to rake in on that life insurance money now

I don't think it would make it "easy". Traveling 20lys only to find out you have to abandon a mission and head back is not a difficulty thing, it's a boring and tedious thing that can be easily fixed by letting people know what they have to fight before they accept the mission.

Please make the teeny tiny red warning text...

A BIT BIGGER!
It also helps to check out the "mission rank requirements" when you're looking at the desc. But the OP has a point, the current mission desc. is pretty lacking in understanding the real mission difficulty

I agree op. I would like a bit more info. Like was last seen alone/with large medium or small escort flying a corvete in bla bla system at such and such a time. Go get em.

I recently found my self trying to kill 2 corvetes in a viper mk4, i think it was a bug but it sertainly illustrated this point.

I would love this. The old mission system from ffe was great for this andbit always made me feel like i had more of an investment in the out come. Pluss being able to ask for more money and if i needed a permit or if it was dangerouse etc.

Mabe one day.

Oh yeah I understand the "mission rank requirment" but I feel that it's such a broad thing. I've seen a master rank put me up against a ASP Explorer one time and a Fer-De-Lance the next. And of course I don't think it should be like "Here is the EXACT armaments, the ships weakness and the address of the pilot's mother's house" but like bladebss said just a little "Hey, dude flies a python" or a big one for me "is in a wing". You could easily put it in with fluff text like you mentioned before.

"X deserted our military and now we want him brought to justice. He took one of our pythons when he fled and convinced some others to join him. Find him, shoot him down and you'll be paid"

See, you got your fluff AND your information.

Where are you finding those missions? I want some of those!

I have encountered 3 kind of assassinate missions:

* Solo assassinate, where the target most often is a Corvette, but can be Anaconda, Python, FDL or FAS. these are always solo.

* Wing assassinate, where target is always a FDL, that most of the time have 3 Vultures as cover, but 2, 1 or 0 Vultures have I seen.

* Solo Kill mission (forgot the name), where you have to go to a planetary base and scan the computer to learn where the target is, then you find the target, and these are often Anacondas, with some escorts, but in my cases the escorts have always been Eagles and Sidewinders. Most often, 1 Eagle, 2 sidewinders, but have been less, and if not 3 in the wing, many times have the Anaconda a SLF.

I am Elite Combat rank, so I would expect the toughest opposition. Done these mission in either a Vulture or a Corvette.
