More Music!

So I got a bit of time to play last night, and something struck me ... maybe in the next update or three, our friends at FD might consider adding a few more background music tunes ... it cycles through the same 6 or so, and it would be great if they could add a few more here and there ...

That would be nice indeed.

I would rather see a dashboard mounted player that can be used to play your own local music files or internet radio stations.

Plus a clock (UTC only) so I can get to bed before the sound of the milkman's lorry makes me realise that it is getting light.

(Oh yes - and a bobble-head of Kaylee please)

I'd like to see more of Erasmus's tracks for sale, like the ones he makes for the various trailers. I'd definitely pay for an extended version of the powerplay trailer soundtrack.

^This. That way we could zoom to the system map or galaxy map without having the menu music clashing with YouTube/Sidewinder radio. For some reason, disabling ALL music does not disable the system map music???

You seem to have to disable sys/galaxy map music independently of the mute all function. Downside is that the 'ringtones' from unknown worlds in the system map that help determine what's worth scanning, are tied to the music settings - which is stupid.

Wait, what? I usually just look at the picture in the system map and ignore all bluish-white balls. Is there a better way to tell what's worth scanning?

I can't turn off the system view music even though I have music mute set to muted and each music entry is set to "off" (including cartography) - how do you disable the system map music?

Yeah each body type and most subtypes make their own noises when you have them selected in the system map, makes it easier to pick out say the gas giants that have life, the metal riches vs the high metal contents and ammonia worlds etc.

Boot up Sol and listen to Earth, all earthlikes make those 'jungle noises' after you've listened to them a while.

I don't know what to tell you, when I mute all music and turn stellar cartography music to off, I get no music in system or galaxy map. Just some faint interferency ambient noise now and then, and a biiiiing when a new body is selected in the system map, though as I mentioned no specific ambient track for world type.

The only thing I can think of, is maybe you need to do this before the game is loaded, from the main menu. If you're trying to flip it on and off while in-game maybe it doesn't work.
