Spent last night hunting down the INRA bases.
Had a great time, keeping up on discord and twitch (watching malic_vr) as we all searched planets trying to find the next base.
Loads of commanders were around and the bases themselves had some really creepy elements to them.
Most fun I've had since the Guardian hunt (and maybe the thargoid sites).
This is what I love to see in ED, that sense of exploration and discovery, and little mysteries to unearth.
The downside, we really need a better way to explore planets, having to change your graphic settings to "simplify" the terrain so that you can spot these things from orbit isn't ideal. I like that they aren't easy to find, but some sort of planetary scan tool that highlights possible anomolies, even if that means there's 100 to search or a huge search radius, at least it would give us a rough clue where to start looking (though to be honest people were finding these bases amazingly quickly).
But overall, I love this stuff, I realise that it's not easy to have loads of these type of these mystery/science/exploration things on the go at once, but this is all good stuff, more please
