More people vomiting driving SRV in VR

I rarely drive the SRV anymore regardless if I'm in VR or monitor. I've got other games that do driving better if that's what I'm in the mood for. There's really no compelling SRV gameplay, except exploring INRA bases I've never been to before. As for exploring and experiencing the surface of a planet outside of a ship, I usually deploy the SRV just long enough to drive to a spot close to where I landed, and then I literally get out and walk around myself with my very real space legs.

Of course I'm talking about my own personal preferences, not making global declarations (Alec and his crew are proof that people do love the SRV).

I am happy I don't have to deal with motion sickness. There are some settings in the graphics options that may help some of you...Can't remember exactly what they are, but they should be in the SRV/Driving section. Let us know if they help.

I personally don't have any issues with VR sickness. Just wondering how many additional people will be landing on planets and driving around with the free upgrade, I saw somewhere it was around 7 people who didn't have Horizons ;-)

Indeed: it's not a car, it's not "driving" its mechanics are honestly closer to a simplified helicopter than anything else.
Don't understand what you mean with that, could you explain?

I actually think the driving mechanics or the srv are v.good if a little rear heavy, take it to a 1g world and it makes sense to me.
Low g worlds on the other hand need a different approach.

For me, flyving around in the SRV is like a cross between ye olde Lunar Lander and Stunt Car Racer rather than a simplified helicopter, but I can see where TorTorden is coming from.

Turn on the lock camera to horizon option in the settings that has already been mentioned.
at least try it out - for me it made me very uneasy when I flipped over and the camera tried to catch up, I prefer to have it off.

Main problem in SRV were lost frames for me, since the performance on the GTX970 was suboptimal. And a few days to get your brain used to it and develop VRtires

That's the thing with VR, you need the hardware in order to run it at acceptable framerates. There must be many people who are made to feel unwell, not by the motion, but by the dropped frames. To overcome this can be beyond the expense of many people and is what is holding VR back in my opinion.

True, but things are improving - any 2xxx card should be capable of running Elite in VR with good settings, and the 3xxx series even more so. The barrier for entry is getting lower.

Wrongly set up IPD and trying to force through the nausea are other common mistakes in VR, especially when people just try it out at a friends place.

Just play SkyrimVR. You'll quickly get VR calluses. When I started, 5mins in and I would be nauseous but now I can play all day. By the time ED came along my Skyrim immunity proved to be more than enough for any VR game. I don't care if ED drops to 30fps, it doesn't bother me at all - and I was the kid on the school bus who constantly threw up from motion sickness. Skyrim might not be the best VR experience but, damn, does it cure motion sickness if you stick with it.

Very weirdly I get sick everytime i get in something moving like car or bus that im not driving myself.
But nothing in VR makes me sick. i can drive around the SRV or Play CQC for hours. Even walking games make me feel totally fine.

And my 7 yr old pc not the best i dont even know how much fps i get.
