Whilst we're all eagerly awaiting more vessels that we can fly (or whatever you do in space); I feel the game is lacking a big chunk of life in the form of the non-working ships.
We have trade, combat and exploration ships (and the Orca).
I think there should be a lot more chuff in space. The every day folk who fly around in fancy or boring ships but with none of the bits that would make of use in a game. Generally short-range, no cargo, no (or seriously limited) combat ability. The family hatch-backs of space. Whizzing around doing the weekly groceries and generally getting in our way and causing traffic jams. Like the shuttles from Star-Trek and such.
Why stop there? Other utility ships. Tugs and repair ships (that can be enlisted to help if your stranded, but hardly something somebody is going to want to play as).
Though back on the playable ships, I want the mining ship Red Dwarf do do some serious mining...
