Newcomer / Intro More than 1300 LT's from the bubble and still lookin for that virgin system.

Went to California Neb at first but now i'm far from any tourist spots. I plotted upwards from there. Tried hitting just non scoopable stars hoping that would bring me into a non explored system. Still scanning planets on the way. Any hints on finding unexplored systems?

Hm. I think California area has been heavily explored for Thargoid stuff.
I would try a line from where you are now toward Trifid, (maybe angled slightly off).

Most of us head straight up or down from the bubble so those directions are quite well explored. Routes towards the core of the galaxy, Colonia, famous stars and prominent nebulae are also well travelled.
Try heading a hundred or so light years up or down then picking a direction that doesn’t head for anywhere pretty, interesting or famous and that should get you some firsts. If you do want to visit the sights go towards somewhere dull looking first and then head to what you want to see from an unlikely direction.

The first time you get an undiscovered system go to economical jumps that way you will visit more systems giving you more discoveries.

There are bases and stations out beyond the California Nebula that were set up by Community Goal a few years ago so there would have been many hundreds heading out that way, mainly from Maia and the Pleiades but from the bubble as well. The Witch Head isn’t that far from there and that is also a high traffic area.

There are still some in PRO EURL and PAEA EUQ iirc.

What I would do is head towards Colonia, but not in a straight line, go off at a tangent and also up or down rather than horizontal.

Generally speaking, you'll need to be about 1,500 - 2kly out to start finding them but that number isn't 100% and, as @aRJay points out, popular destinations like nebulae will be well trodden routes.

1300LY from the Bubble is still far inside heavily explored Territory - almost regardless of direction.

You can use this new ED Astrometrics Tool to pan around the explored Galaxy in high (2.5LY) Resolution :

This yields the best available Information as to how much each 1280LY Sector is explored and where there might be lightly explored or even unexplored areas within.
Extremely useful tool to plan Exploration targets :)

Woohoo! I finally found one, SLEGAO GY-R B24-O will have my name on it! 3,112 LY from my bubble neighbourhood.
Now you have told everyone where it is you probably need to race to the nearest cartography office to sell the data before someone beats you to it.

In other words it is the first to sell the data that gets the discovery credit not necessarily the first to find it.

It is not hard to find undiscovered systems within 1000 ly from the bubble. Just go up or down the plane.

However, as time goes on (and no doubt post the Epic give-away) the boundary to encounter virgin systems extends ever outwards. A recent jaunt in an alt account came across only one within 600ly and it was well after 3kylies before they became the norm. Of course I was well below 0 and darn sure I was not headed towards any "jewel" but even so the difference in just over a year, since a "Palin trip" in yet another sale account, is very apparent.

Any hints on finding unexplored systems?

If you see something of interest like a nebula or other things that might look interesting on the Galaxy map, dont go there. Others already did it years ago
This includes the direct routes between the bubble and the said interesting things on the GalMap
