More than 30 ships?

At launch they said 25 ships, then as they could not make the dead line they up it to 30 (5 of which the backers would get to choose form).

We currently have 20. We know we are getting 3 more. There is the fed corvette and of course the imperials will get their version. The panther clipper has been confirmed and we have had art for the Beluga Liner, Dolphin and the hunter.

thats 9 ships coming
so...........

Do the backers get to pick their one ship from the current pool or is there 5 more coming ?? :)

Nothing there to indicate choice...of the 5 new ships, you get to have one of them. Maybe we will get a choice but that isn't explicitly stated.

EDIT: Also, though not definitive, since grammar is such a wild beast, they used the singular "it's". To me, that means there is a specific ship they have in mind, of the five, that us backers will get when it is released. If they had used "they're" I would think it is a choice....but it is a gamble either way since FD has had some serious grammar confusions in the past.

My hunch is that it is one ship already chosen, since that is easier than giving a choice.

I'm going to make a wild guess and say there is pack of 5 ships that will be all released at once. There will be a theme to them and they will usher in the completed base game, paving the way to expansion. Dream dream dream...

Well after Federal players just got trolled so hard with more Dropship, id go out on a limb and say its going to be the planetary shuttle from E2.

We're getting a choice of: Corvette, Beluga Liner, Panther Clipper, Imperial Cutter or the new Federal Sidewinder, which features downgraded shields and engines.
