That’s why some Cmdrs will make the trip out to Colonia and use the engineers there to pin another type of recipe for the same module. It’s a long way but worth the effort if you often use two types of power plant, for example armoured and overcharged, or two types of shield etc
Yep.
If you're starting to pin blueprints, in the long-run it's well worth the effort of taking a couple of hours, with a pen & paper (or a spreadsheet, if you're that way inclined) to make a list of all the engineers and all the mod's they offer
and make a list of all the mod's you regularly use and then figuring out which mod' to pin from which engineer in order to give yourself the largest possible choice of pinned mod's.
You really, really, DON'T want to end up in a situation where, for example, you're out in Colonia and decide to pin the DD5 blueprint from Mel Brandon and then get back to the bubble, realise you'd like to pin a G5 laser mod' but, in order to do so, you'd have to pin the DD5 mod' from Palin and
then schlep all the way back to Colonia so you can pin the laser blueprint from Brandon.
Plan it all out so (almost) every Engineer can give you a different lueprint for something that you use regularly.
