Took the photo for this show and tell.. everything is pretty mint except the box which is still damn good for near on 20 years old..

I had that for my Amiga 500. I remember my savedisk got corrupted and I threw a mice into the wall. Haha. I had a Panther Clipper and much creds :p Old time griefing :D

Took me forever to play Frontier as I had an Atari ST which was well and truly on its last legs by then. No shops stocked more than a couple of games, I was at Leicester for Uni and used to ring up game shops all across the area.

Finally, after months of trying, I found a shop in Peterborough that had one, so I jumped on a train, got off at the destination and excitedly ran to the game shop.

Wherupon they told me it had been sold.

I think it was another 7 or 8 years before I finally managed to play an emulated version of it...

So yeah, nice to see what I would have bought all those years ago!

I used to get 95% of all my Amiga games on Mail order.

My original A1200 I sold with Frontier and 100's of other games..
This past 12 months I have been re reacquiring my childhood Computers

The C=64 and Amiga

Got this for my C=64 two weeks ago

Yup what other game that's almost as old as I am would i pay £20 for?

Game, manual, novella, ship ID chart, keyboard overlay.....

Us old gamers used to get so spoiled, nowadays gamers just get the game and a bunch of codes to enter for various "pre order bonuses"

:D

As a fairly young member of this crowd (will turn 30 this Tuesday), seeing that keyboard overlay brought back very early memories of a submarine game my dad had called Silent Service for our PC.

I kept my original Elite, Frontier, and Federation of Free Traders boxed games even though I sold the computers and all the other games for them years ago.

They are the only 3 games I have left from my youth.

I just looked inside my Frontier box and noticed I even still have the store receipt! Paid £29.99 for it from The Games Store 28th October 1993 :D

My Elite box still has the lenslock inside with instructions on how to use it...

Not from the Elite series, but definitely inspired by Elite was a game from 1989 called Federation of Free Traders (FOFT). Its another one I kept for sentimental reasons...

All 3 boxes still serve a purpose today... they're currently used as a temporary stand to raise my monitors height ....
