I think it would be a great idea if players could earn ranks with the super powers to unlock power play modules. Giving the players more options on how they acquire upgrades for their ships is a good idea in my book.

There are several powerplay characters for the empire and the federation. How would this work ?
Also, last time I checked, PP modules were fairly bad. Are they better now ? (Didn't try to engineer them)

Heat meta made packhounds used.
And PvP psychos gonna love them Yuri dumbfires.
Some ppl like the imperial hammers and if you have to much money and unused energy why not use a prismatic shield?

Each PP faction could get it's own minor faction in the star ports they control.
