More weapons/damage rework

Odyssey has a few fun weapons. Especially rocket launcher. But it needs a few more. These are in my eyes a

hitscan railgun sniper. Charge time and high recoil/bolt action is balanced by hitscan nature and very high damage.

Handheld beam laser rifle. Highly effective against shields. Less effective against armor, drains batteries quickly.

LMG a belt fed 100 round mag light machine gun. Very high damage, rate of fire but high recoil, slows player movement when being used.

Imperial elimenator. (Takada/Gutamaya) Styled in classic imperial curved and rounded styling (like ships) this laser weapon is strong against shields but also strong against armor. Uses a big railgun charge like laser burst. Strengthen's user's shields by 30% and increases recharge time by 15% Doing high damage but requiring a long reload after.

Federal carbine "court martial" (Core Dynamics/Kinematic)

A 200 round 500 RPM, belt fed gatling gun. Able to switch between incindeary and regular rounds when mag empty. Slows player movement when equipped, reload takes 6 seconds which must be stationary for the player. Has front facing shield to protect user that can get damaged with incoming fire.

A 200 round 500 RPM, belt fed gatling gun. Able to switch between incindeary and regular rounds when mag empty. Slows player movement when equipped, reload takes 6 seconds which must be stationary for the player. Has front facing shield to protect user that can get damaged with incoming fire.

Instead of this, I would recommend adding a DMR rifle - single fire shots, semi-automatic, with 10 rounds per magazine and less powerful than Executioner but still retaining a potent damage per shot (a bit bigger than the P-15 kinetic pistol). A suggestion for name: "Federal Marines DMR" (suggesting a specialized weapon for specific troops) but this would be a personal flavor.
It could get access to incendiary ammo as well (for better-than-nothing shield damage) and should do bonus damage for headshots if shields are down. Unlockable by Federal Rank (like Petty Officer - not too high, but not too low).

As for a bullet spray weapon, I will prefer something more akin to Light Machine Gun (LMG class). This would work with slow reload, lower movement but great RoF, more spray than AR-50 but similar damage to pin down enemies and defend strategic points. Could do with 100-150 rounds/magazine. I will see a gattling gun on an SRV though similar to multi-cannons on ships: perhaps we will get that SRV module options in the future.

Sounds interesting, but I would eliminate "Strengthen's user's shields by 30%" factor since there is no point in having shield buffs generated by a shooting gun. Instead, I would make this weapon something similar to the rocket launcher, which is bulky, heavy, with limited battery count but good enough damage to at least get down ship and SRV shields fast.
 
More sniper and ballistic options would be good, only the grenades play with gravity and do not feel strategic. Having a projectile interaction gameplay with all the gravity variation out there seems a missed opportunity. Long range sniper and some sort of motar device for lobbing would be good but may require some more destructible scenery for it to be worthwhile.
 
Can we first make the grenades useful ? As they are now, I don't even use them. Still a tad bit too clunky to use, should have a binding for every type to immediately throw that one instead of just readying it, and we can carry far too few to make them useful in any but rare emergency situations. A grenade launcher would be nice too, taking away the ability to throw grenades, instead shooting them.

What about a bolt action rifle? Extreme damage but single shot

Well as Fdev are currently working on another shooter why not lob in some armor and go the full hog?
