More weapons in fire groups, please

Hello
I use saitek X52 for playing elite.
I noticed that i can't use it as effectively as in SC due to only 2 weapon mode (primary/alternative) in weapon group.
Why not make 4 weapons in group?
Main trigger in X52 and probably other saitek flight sticks have same two modes.
There is also pinkie trigger which can be used for scanning.
And "c" button which is often used and countermeasure button.
Right now i need to swap between firing/scanning mode, which is annoying.

I agree, it would be nice to have more than two fire-control assignments. My X-55 has more than enough buttons on the stick for it. However, not everyone uses a HOTAS and those using the XBox controller would probably be at a great disadvantage should FD introduce tertiary let alone quaternary fire button assignments. The ability to assign a separate key bind for the KWS (with 'hold' function) could offset that issue though.

You do know that you can use shifted commands in the game, right? For example, my trigger fires my primary weapon, but if I use the "shift" button on my stick together with the trigger, it fires off a shield cell.

Perhaps just dedicated button for active scanner (can we have two in scanning mode at the same time, btw?) and countermeasures then? There is even a dedicated button for dropping heat sink, but not for countermeasures, that's actually strange.

That's a nice idea, but i prefer binding buttons without modifiers. They sometimes act weird.
