Most Beautiful Stations

What do you think are the best looking station out there in the galaxy? I myself haven't found any nice ones but Lave Station is kinda nice.

You have not been to Mars, then? The palm trees by the docking bays must cost a small fortune to maintain.

Never been to Lave, but hear many people speaking about it. Why's it so popular?

I personally like Dalton Gateway in LHS 3447 :)
Ah. Not an old timer from '84, then. And don't forget your brandy.

Some stations have a very nice interior, with palm trees and all. For instance Michail Gorbachev or the one around the moon in the Sol system. Or the communist station in Wyrd, which is weird. Where's my hat?

Lots of stations in Empire space are like that. Love them - hands down the most beautiful design with the trees and such... and they feel less "claustrophobic" than typical stations due their light color theme.

I don't think I have seen anything fancy yet like pink stations or palm trees. So far I have only noticed how insanely frustrating it is to drop out on the wrong end of a Coriolis station. For every other type finding the actual docking port is easy. I suspect a lot of black market traders hate the Coriolis as well :D

Lave looks gorgeous for some reason!

Love the huge Orbis, the sexy Ocellus and all their derivatives.

Coriolis with advertising projectors and moody lighting is pimp.

Outposts are just awesome, my favourite is Neumann Gateway in Wolf 750 with the Anaconda in the showroom.

Plus the pirate projectors at the unsanctioned outposts.

Never ceases to blow me away. So immersive.

My first Elite game was Elite 2 for Amiga... followed by First Encounters in the 90's.

Does anyone think the outposts/platforms are getting bigger/more elaborate over time?

As in do they "evolve" in game or some other sense? Could see that happening when some places become more important, populated (NPC-wise, and perhaps due players too).

I also saw a Coriolis station with two thumping great handles on it. Don't recall where, though, but I expect there are a few of them around.

I also like the variety of the outposts, even if finding your pad can be awkward. I particularly like the docking bay prefab sections with one at the 'bottom' (the 'wrong way up') and another at the 'top'. A lovely reminder that you have to put your gravity-based common sense to one side when in space.

While the large stations are nice, I prefer the outpost stations (the combine harvester one is cool), it's just something about the modular look to them.

I think there's a correlation between how pretty / impressive a station looks from the outside, and the chance that I'll fly up to the entrance staring at it while completely forgetting to request docking permission...
Never happens at outposts, mostly because it's the first thing you do in order to have the slightest idea where to land.
