Now that engineers commodities have been removed, many are rushing to hoard the most amount of modded modules/weapons/whatever before commodities are put back. One of the most pain in the behind materials to find has always been Specialized Legacy Firmware, which are necessary for some of the sweetest mid-range mods.
The usual way to find them is to scan data beacons in low/med security, or scan beacons at encoded emissions USS's. But driving around is a bore, and waiting for the right USS's to spawn is a pain.
However...
The CQC assets which were put in the game in 2.2 have satellites floating around them. Scanning those satellites give a high chance for Specialized Legacy Firmware. And you may also feast your eyes with the view of such magnificent structures at the same time.

Only the installations in space have satellites.
ps: yes, if you return to the same structure after scanning all the satellites, you may scan them again.
