Motion Control

Hi,

I do hope that someone here can help me, I am looking at building a motion control simulator (for flight sims and racing games) and would like to know if ED would be able to used in this rig. I think it would be great to use a system like this for ED :-

imagine how much fun it would be to get into a fight or at least go for a landing using this rig. :)

That really depends on what kind of feedback data you will be able to get from the game, I guess.

There's a fairly obvious mechanic in ED which is the "head bob" that throws your view in and out of turns and acceleration (watch the dashboard disappear in any ED video ).

To achieve this effect FD must be using a similar motion control analysis to monitor and follow ship movements, that could provide a direct drive to your gimbals?

Whether there are plans to make this feedback available already, maybe as part of overall "rumble" (joystick feedback for instance) only FD could tell you.

Suggest you contact someone like Sandy Sammarco directly to get an early heads up on what's planned, or if you think you can be of use in helping to design a standard UI hardware, to make them an offer / make it worth their while etc ...

Don't forget us when you're rich and famous kk? :D
