Motion sickness

Krait would have a good view and feel for that.

The first time I drove an SRV in VR, I nearly threw up. Now it doesn't bother me at all. Took about two weeks to get used to it. Stick with it. Play for a short time and gradually increase the duration

I would like to see a flying variant of the scarab, due to motion sickness in VR, while driving. Flying low over planet surfaces is a real pleasure.

I used to deal with this a lot, but I finally realized that if I constantly use the thrusters to just kind of "jump" around the planet like I'm mario, I don't get sick using it. So what I do is drive normally over flat terrain, and then "leap" over even the smallest of bumps or rocks. I can drive for 30 minutes to an hour now before feeling much of anything, where I used to want to die after a couple minutes.

The solution to this is called Hover based collector limpets for planets..
They Fly the planet collecting instead of you having to drive at all... they mine, they cut item free, and then fly back to ship

Just need the official version released.

I rarely even take an SRV anywhere anymore because of this and other reasons. If only my collector limpets could gather materials on the ground, I'd be all set!

ps - I use my "space legs" to see the sights from ground level, no SRV required.

What is it that you think is triggering the motion sickness, is it the bumpy ride in the SRV?
My observation is it has to do with the movement around the yaw axis. It is much quicker than in regulars cars, because it has additional rear wheel steering. Also experiencing motions you don't expect or can't control is a good way to make you feel sick. So the quick turns, unexpected spins of the SRV and extremely bumpy terrain is a bad mix for VR (or people who are prone to simulation sickness in general).

In my case I can play Dirt Rally for hours, but 15 minutes in the SRV on very rough terrain makes me take a break. Smooth terrain and less sharp turns and I am fine.

Yeah, in VR I get a weird sensation when playing Battlezone in them tanks. Think it’s the smooth speed everything is moving.

Wipeout VR, now that was absolutely insane, the drops on some of the planets induce horrific sweaty palms...

I’m alright with VR overall however.
