Mouse anyone??

i played this on BBC computer when it firs appeared, on thing i find very confusing now and then was when you pull back on the mouse the nose goes down NOT up as it would if you are flying.
On the original game this could be reversed, can it on this ?
Thanks

Yes you can. In mouse controls, look for 'mouse y-axis' and set it to 'pitch inverted'

The fact I've played about a billion hours of War Thunder with mouse/keyboard too which has mouse for yaw and pitch and A+D for roll. I doubt I could fly any other way now.

Bigger ships do turn rather slowly, it's akin to wading through treacle in a Lakon, even with upgraded thrusters :)

Would be really nice if the developers upped the turn speeds a tad. (Do you think they heard that?)

I think it just seems a lot slower than it is, Ian, due to... space. I noticed early on when turning beside a station for example that it was actually quite impressive. Not as slow as it feeeels out in the nothing. I'm not saying it's lightning mind but it's ok. Ish.

When I used to play on the BBC I was rubbish and could not dock without the docking computer. So if you were like me go get a joystick of some description as it makes it so easy I would not even think of getting a docking computer now. Respect to anyone who can play this with a mouse.

I plan to go to HOTAS eventually but I have delayed it because the mouse/keyboard is okay for me. Roll and pitch on mouse works fine but you need to spend time working out which combination works best for you and how best to setup. I spent a lot of time working out a setup that felt right and it feels intuitive. What will make me go to HOTAS is the ability to have controls near to hand so I am not reaching around a keyboard with one hand.

I use mouse / keyboard with default settings and it works perfectly. I do assign incremental throttle to the keypad but that's it. :)

I bought a x52 the other week and sold it on fleabay a day later.

I know I didn't give it much time, but mouse and keyboard for me, and that wont change. I can mine an asteroid (shoot it till i have 15 - 20 pieces floating) and collec them all with the last one still being over 20% "health".

Other than setting incremental thrust to my numberpad for SC, standard settings - just a good mouse (G9X is fantastic for this game)

So - no - you don't need a joystick.

Once you been playing for a good while, it wouldnt even effect "rifting" as I dont look at the keyboard at all. Oh - the mouse had side buttons for which I use for "jump"

Thanks for the info guys, i have got so used to KB/M over the years was hopping this was the case roll on December
