Newcomer / Intro Mouse free look and activation of HUD panels

Not really a newbie, but this is definitely a newbie kind of the question :)

Is it possible to turn off automatic activation of left and right HUD panels while I am using mouse free-look? I mean, I'd just like to... well, look around. Those damn holograms popping up every time I turn my view into their general direction is becoming slightly annoying. Am I missing something here?

The panels only pop up if you're looking along the left/right horizontal axis, not when looking above or below it. They don't pop up at all if you look higher or lower.

Yeah... well, thanks for the replies, I thought I missed something in controls menu. Wouldn't be bad if they add an option "do not activate panels in free look mode". When I need them opened, I have pre-defined keys for that. Looks like another small'ish tweak that might come handy.
