Mouse functions for X52 Pro have stopped working with new Windows 10 update. Does anyone have a solution?

Mouse stick Mouse click Button and Scroll Wheel on the throttle have no functionality in windows or in game. I was playing the game before I installed the update. And right after I did it stopped working. So obviously windows is the culprit. Anyone else experience this?

Really? That is GRAND. Perhaps my X52 Pro can be resurrected... In my case, the worthless mouse stick on the throttle shorted out. I was unable to disable it in the thing anywhere, and it would override the real mouse in and out of the game. Had to retire the X52 Pro in favor of a new HOTAS.

Turn your mode switch a couple of times (the silver wheel on the stick). Sometimes that thing gets wonky if it's bumped, and will stick just a bit off of true. When this happens, it will break some of the buttons on the throttle, because they're no longer properly 'defined' by the profile. Happens to me on occasion, and drives me bananas because it disables the mouse button, which I use to activate VA.

Win10 is showing I'm fully updated, but I'm not having any issues with those inputs. Checked the control panel, and everything worked as expected. Also loaded up VA and ED, couldn't find anything off with the stick, sliders, mouse button or scroll wheel.

I'm not saying Win10 didn't do something to you, just reporting that it's not misbehaving for me at present. :)

Those fake mouse parts have always been intermittent at best, even back on Windows 8, 8.1, and all previous versions 10. I eventually just gave up on trying to use any of those elements.

The "mouse stick" is in reality a pretty shoddy D-pad and the rubber mat with the four buttons loves to shift and turn. If you find the time, open the throttle grip (good luck though) and just remove that thing or sever the wires leading to it. Fixes it right up.

Well, obviously, don't use an inferior version of Windows. Just sayin'. ;)

Mine would occasionally do that too as well as that most of the buttons on the throttle wouldn't work unless I opened up the x-52 profile. Very hard to do sometimes when I was constantly fighting a mouse cursor that wanted to go left all the time.

@op do the buttons work when you open the x-52 profile thing? If so leave it open when playing Elite.

My X52 stopped working all together after the latest Windows update. I had to re-install - with some difficulty - the drivers.

I had to mark the device as using the 'generic USB device' drivers before the Saitek drivers would even recognise it an be able to install at all. What a fiasco

The Windows 10 update reset clutch mode and a few other things on my X52 Pro. I just had to disable clutch mode again to have it working as usual. Check your X52 Pro Control Panel (right click on the Saitek Profiler).

I'll have to try this ... thanks

are you running latest drivers for hardware?

try turning off w10 game mode?

Something else to try ...

In my case ED assigned my 52 a certain key for boost and at first it worked fine (before last Windows 10 update) and then it did not work. Also the slider for radar zoom worked but not now. I checked the stick with its control panel and all buttons are functional. I reassigned boost to the mouse click on my throttle after trying to reset it to the original button was unsuccessful.

I did notice an oddity in the stick control panel in that when I pushed one button that had been assigned to the boost that the light for the hat button came on. Anyone else get this?

I will look at the above suggestions but staying with Windows 10.

Chief

Elite dangerous had a bad crash that went to the windows new "uh oh" need to restart screen. And as much as I hate ED violently crashing my computer it did however fix my problem with my Hotas scroll wheel and mouse.

So that's one solution I guess. Crash so hard your PC forgets which way is up.

So it just needed a solid whack on the noggin to sort it out, eh? LOL

Glad it's working for you again. :D

I just realized had the same problem as OP today. Reinstalled latest drivers (back from 2018 ver:8.0.213.0 x64bit) and it worked immediately. Bookmarked.
